Scouting Report: Strengths
- Works hard on and off the field. Good strength throughout, fluid body control, and natural movement kills.
- Above-average acceleration for a big man.
- Heins has reliable hands and shows the willingness to make catches in traffic over the middle.
- Good quickness off the snap. Has good speed for the position to attack the seam. Shows burst out of his breaks to gain separation.
- Height helps him snare high throws but Heins also adjusts to low ones. Plays hard and with awareness, knows where the marker is. Runs with toughness and sheds tacklers in secondary.
- Turns and accelerates though top speed is good, not elite.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Heins also had problems with drops when coming back to the action. He has some issues against press coverage, sometimes spending too much time hand fighting at the line of scrimmage.
- Lacks the bulk strength to lock on and control NFL defensive linemen. Lower-body strength is questionable and limits his in-line blocking.
- Heins really isn’t a guy who will create a lot of separation.
