2025 NFL Draft - Prospects and Talent Pool Assessed

As the 2024 NCAAF college football season gets underway we can look forward to the upcoming 2025 NFL Draft. Although we have to wait until April, there is already a heap of rankings and mock drafts, and we can see the players in action in the upcoming weeks as they battle it out for their colleges before pushing for the majors.

Below, we want to get ahead of the curve and take a look at these prospects and how they could change the landscape of the NFL in their rookie seasons. We’ve created a simple list of our top 10 2025 NFL Draft prospects based on scouting intel, our own insight, and a combination of mock drafts from external sources.

We will also take a look at if we think any of the 2025 draft prospects have a chance of breaking into superstardom and becoming some of the highest paid athletes in the world and making lists like iGamingNuts’ predictions for wealthiest athletes. This doesn’t immediately look to be the case, but certain picks like Travis Hunter do have potential and already have lucrative NIL deals.

Scouting Reports – Top 10 2025 NFL Draft Prospects

Luther Burden III – Wide Receiver

  • College: Missouri Tigers
  • Height: 5-11
  • Weight: 208lbs

So far, Burden III has made an impact for the Tigers and has been highly touted as a 5-star recruit. He has shown excellent versatility and has continually shown that he is one of the top receivers in the country with over 85 catches across 1200 yards, and 9 touchdowns.

James Pearce Jr. – Edge Rusher

  • College: Tennessee Volunteers
  • Height: 6-5
  • Weight: 243lbs

Although ESPN only rates Pearce Jr. as a 3-star, his overall rating and draft prospect remains solid, and we expect him to go in the top 5. His sophomore season in 2023 was where he took a jump and started being seen as a premier pash rusher. During this run, he racked up 10 sacks and 16 QB hurries and was selected for ALL-SEC honors.

Travis Hunter - Cornerback

  • College: Colorado Buffaloes
  • Height: 6-1
  • Weight: 185lbs

Hunter has the potential to be an all-time earner and already has NIL deals with various companies. He has become a college phenom and he has shown fantastic offensive and defensive skills for the Buffaloes. During his 2023 season, he caught 57 passes and made 5 touchdowns and was given All-American honors despite missing 3.5 games.

Will Johnson - Cornerback

  • College: Michigan Wolverines
  • Height: 6-2
  • Weight: 202lbs

Johnson is an excellent 5-start talent and has shown his football prowess from his high school days. Playing for the Wolverines like his father Deon Johnson, he helped them win the National Championship and amassed 27 tackles, 4 interceptions, and 4 pass deflections. Scouts note his superb acceleration and speed, and his ability to quickly close gaps.

Mason Graham – Defensive Tackle

  • College: Michigan Wolverines
  • Height: 6-3
  • Weight: 318lbs

Graham is set to be a strong and sturdy defensive tackle and in his 2023 season for the Wolverines he made 24 tackles, 5 assists, and 14 QB hurries. This impressive statistical season saw him make the All-American second team. Despite his height and bulk, Graham has shown a fantastic motor and an ability to apply constant pressure.

Shedeur Sanders - Quarterback

  • College: Colorado Buffaloes
  • Height: 6-2
  • Weight:215lbs

As the son of former NFL half of famer Deion Sanders, Shedeur has gained a lot of attention – but more so for his playing ability. Although playing for a struggling Buffaloes team, Sanders has shown that he can handle the pressure and has shown that he can make a positive impact on players around him. Scouting notes his excellent football IQ and long pass ability.

Tetairoa McMillan – Wide Receiver

  • College:  Arizona Wildcats
  • Height: 6-5
  • Weight: 210lbs

McMillan could easily go higher in the draft, and he has earned numerous 5-start prospect ratings. In his 2023 season with the Wildcats, McMillan made 1400+ receiving yards and 10 touchdowns which saw him make the All-American second team. Scouting reports note his strong hands, and excellent catch radius which allow him to outperform smaller defenders.

Will Campbell – Outside Tackle

  • College: LSU Tigers
  • Height: 6-6
  • Weight: 320lbs

Campbell is an absolute unit and stands as an impressive outside tackle for the Tigers. During his college career to date, he has played 1600+ snaps and shows excellent durability. His 2023 season saw him not allow a single sack, and although his defensive prowess is superb, he is also known to be an excellent leader on the field. Despite being 6-6 and 320lbs, scouting reports note his impressive agility.

Benjamin Morrison - Cornerback

  • College: Notre Dame Fighting Irish
  • Height: 6-0
  • Weight: 190lbs

Morrison is another excellent CB prospect that excels at forcing turnovers and applying defensive pressure. He had an excellent freshman year in 2022 and continued to develop as a sophomore where he made 3 interceptions and led the Fighting Irish with 10 pass breakups. Scouting reports note his short-area quickness and ability to change direction quickly as major defensive strengths.

Quinn Ewers - Quarterback

  • College: Texas Longhorns
  • Height: 6-2
  • Weight: 210lbs

Ewers is one of the few project QB first round picks and he was previously a top pick in the 2021 class. During his two seasons with the Longhorns, Ewers has shown immense potential and has gone from strength to strength. For example, in 2023, he completed 69% of his passes and secured second-team All-Big 12 honors.

2025 Has Strong Defensive Potential with a Few Decent QBs Thrown In

While the 2024 NFL Draft was the year for quarterbacks with a whopping 6 selections in the first round, the 2025 NFL Draft appears to be more defensive-oriented. Many people believe that this is not one of the more impressive draft classes and the talent pool is lesser compared to the previous season, but as always, only time will tell.
