Draft Profile: Bio
Jalen Kimber from Mansfield Timberview High School was rated a 4-star recruit by ESPN and handed a 4-star grade by 247 Sports. Following high school, Kimber opted to join Georgia after being heavily recruited.

In 2020 as a freshman Kimber saw action in just 2 games and played a total of 23 snaps at cornerback for the Bulldogs. He recorded just one tackle, no assists, while adding no stops. In coverage Kimber notched up no pass breakups, no interceptions, and an elite QB rating when targetted of .0.

As a sophomore in 2021 he played in just one game and logged 14 snaps for the Bulldogs. He made just one tackle, no assists, and had no stops. In coverage he totaled no pass breakups, no interceptions, and an elite QB rating when targetted of .0.

After season's end Kimber transferred to Florida where as a junior for the Gators in 2022 Kimber played in 11 games and took part in 198 snaps for the Gators. He chalked up 10 tackles, 2 assists, and added one stop. In the secondary Kimber forced one pass breakup, one interception, and gave up a disapointing QB rating when targetted of 122.1.

In 2023 as a senior Kimber saw action in 12 games while playing 488 snaps. He logged 21 tackles, 4 assists, and made 4 stops. In coverage Kimber had 5 pass breakups, no interceptions, and surrendered a disapointing QB rating when targetted of 123.6.
Scouting Report: Strengths
  • Kimber has the quick feet and loose hips to line up in press, where Kimber has the size and strength to get physical, and then the quick feet to mirror.
  • Shows good instincts when facing the action in zone coverage, and he has solid ball skills.
  • Instinctive, adept at reading routes and anticipating throws, and strong in zone coverage.
  • Long and fast and has the ability to dominate receivers as a press corner. Kimber has a strong punch that upsets receivers early in the route, and he has the straight-line speed to recover downfield if he loses early.
  • Should excel as a zone defender because of his closing speed to wrap receivers after the catch.
  • Can track the ball downfield and gets his head around when playing in a trail position, and he shows excellent ball skills when breaking on a route. He’s a plus tackler in run support as well.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
  • Liability against the run. Kimber gives effort but doesn’t have the power as a tackler or the ability to slip blocks.
  • His appetite for crashing down against the run came and went in college, and he’s likely to get walled off easily by bigger receivers.
  • Kimber runs well, but Kimber doesn’t have elite recovery speed.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance. For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.

*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
