Start where it matters. The Giants took Jayden Daniels to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman. The Williams pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.
Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Brade.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
No edge and no loss on Jayden Daniels in the 5th pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. The roster fit checks out.
Fair-plus on Xavier Worthy, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Cooper Beebe in pick No. 54 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Jack Sawyer in the 69th overall pick. It fills a real need, too.
They went early on James Williams in pick 105, and the value did not follow. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Beau Brade at the Round 5 slot is the proof. It fits a board better than it fits this team.
A premium they did not need to pay, Jaylan Ford a notch or two before his time. A minor need, but a need all the same.
