The Raiders spent the pick that matters most on Jayden Daniels, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.
On value alone, Sturdivant makes the weekend a net positive. A whole weekend of picks and tight end is somehow still a want.
They are betting Jacobs proves the room right and everyone else wrong. They squeezed a little extra out of every move they made.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick-by-Pick
They paid sticker price for Jayden Daniels in No. 7, and that is fine. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Quinyon Mitchell at the Round 2 slot is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Christian Haynes in the 77th pick is fair value, right on his grade. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A slide stopped in the 112th overall pick, with J. Michael Sturdivant worth more than the price. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
No drama and no debate, Darius Robinson went about where he belonged in Round 5, Pick 14. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They liked Curtis Jacobs enough to skip the value, taking him in pick No. 190. It adds depth where they could use a little.
No edge and no loss on Blake Watson in pick 234; it is a wash and a sensible one. A need, and now a little less of one.
