You build a draft on nights like this. Dwight McGlothern had no business being available in the 210th overall pick, and the Eagles did the only sane thing and turned in the card.
McCormick has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. They will regret leaving wide receiver for another day if the season turns on it.
The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 22 they get a lockdown presence outside. The biggest hole, addressed.
Nothing to complain about; Chris Braswell went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Jeremiah Trotter Jr. in No. 53 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Value said wait; Mason McCormick in the Round 4 slot says they were not listening. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Good price on Kitan Oladapo in the 161st pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Xavier Thomas at pick 171 is money in the bank, a edge rusher taken below his worth. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A slide stopped in Round 5, Pick 36, with Walter Rouse worth more than the price. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Taking Dwight McGlothern in pick No. 210 is close to grand larceny; a cornerback that good had no business lasting this long. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
