The search is over. The Raiders handed the keys to Jayden Daniels, and the whole operation now runs on his development. The bottom line is a respectable B.
The Zinter steal is the beam this whole class leans on. They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
They squeezed a little extra out of every move they made.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 11th overall pick they get the arm they will build around. A clean fit for the roster.
They took Quinyon Mitchell at par in Round 2, Pick 20, which is nothing to complain about. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Nice patience on Jermaine Burton, who had no business lasting to pick No. 75. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Tyler Davis at the Round 3 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
The board fumbled Zak Zinter all the way to pick 111, and they scooped it up. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Smael Mondon Jr. in No. 124 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Dylan Laube in the 148th pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
T.J. Sanders at slot 189 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
They paid sticker price for Reuben Fatheree II in pick 232, and that is fine. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
