Call it larceny. Smael Mondon Jr. sat on the board until the 236th pick, and the Commanders did not need to be asked twice. It nets out to a B+, which feels about right.
If Jackson pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. That tight end hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss.
Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 4 of 8 of the wish list covered.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the tight end spot they never got to.
