Some picks age like wine; AJ Barner at the 139th overall pick will need to, sitting 21 spots clear of his grade. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.
The Hadden pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman.
The trade work was a quiet net positive. On the needs board they went 6 of 8, with edge rusher the one that mattered most.

Olumuyiwa Fashanu at No. 7 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The roster fit checks out.
Jonathon Brooks in the Round 2 slot is fair value, right on his grade. It fills a real need, too.
Kris Jenkins at Round 2, Pick 6 is a conviction pick that outran the value. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A reach for Kris Abrams-Draine in the 69th overall pick; a little patience would have been rewarded. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
James Williams at slot 106 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. It adds depth where they could use a little.
They talked themselves into AJ Barner at pick No. 139, and the board did not agree. A need, and now a little less of one.
They paid a round early for Jaylan Ford in slot 183, more than the board wanted. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Kamal Hadden at pick No. 184 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
A real head-scratcher, LaDarius Henderson in pick 223 is miles ahead of his ranking. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Jalen Coker at the 256th pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
