The Raiders spent the pick that matters most on Jayden Daniels, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape.
That wide receiver hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Every board in the league had Bell lower, and that gap is the story.
The trade work was a quiet net positive.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the wide receiver spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 9 they get a long-term answer under center at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
They did well to land Quinyon Mitchell in slot 44, just ahead of his grade. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
By-the-book stuff, Christian Haynes at the Round 3 slot squarely in line with his ranking. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Jaheim Bell at the 112th overall pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A need, and now a little less of one.
They paid a round early for Keith Randolph Jr. in the 150th pick, more than the board wanted. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Michael Barrett in No. 190 is fair value, right on his grade. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
A straight-up fair deal on Miles Frazier at pick 234, value and slot in agreement. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
