The Thor Griffith selection is the head-turner. The Texans reached 67 spots for him, and it will define how this weekend is remembered.
On value alone, Burke makes the weekend a net positive. A whole weekend of picks and running back is somehow still a want.
Good work on the whole, with running back the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 25 they get a seam-stretching tight end at a price that makes it sweeter.
A slide stopped in No. 58, with Matthew Golden worth more than the price. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Good price on Donovan Jackson in Round 3, Pick 25, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. The roster fit checks out.
Denzel Burke in the Round 4 slot should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
You do not let an interior defensive lineman like Darius Alexander reach the 167th pick and blink. They did not. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They reached into another round for Thor Griffith, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
