This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Andrew Mukuba, the No. 69 name on the board, stolen at the Round 5 slot.
They are betting Jackson proves the room right and everyone else wrong. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up.
They left with running back solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 25th overall pick they get a true top target, outstanding value to boot. The biggest hole, addressed.
A wild overpay on Donovan Jackson in the 58th pick, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. It fills a real need, too.
A top-tier interior defensive lineman at a bargain, Alfred Collins in pick No. 89, plain and simple. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Somehow Harold Fannin Jr. was still sitting there in No. 127, and they pounced on premier tight end value. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Steal is underselling it; Andrew Mukuba at Round 5, Pick 28 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
You do not let a running back like Bhayshul Tuten reach pick 243 and blink. They did not. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
