Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Texans were there to profit. Jordan Hancock, the No. 204 name on the board, should have been long gone before pick 243. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through running back. They went 4 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 25 they get a run-stuffing presence up front, outstanding value to boot. The biggest hole, addressed.
Tyler Booker in the Round 2 slot is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It fills a real need, too.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Mason Taylor in slot 89. The roster fit checks out.
They barely believed it either: Savion Williams still on the board at No. 127. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
A offensive lineman of that caliber at the 167th pick is the definition of value, full stop. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Jordan Hancock in pick 243 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
