The Texans went off the board in a big way for Thor Griffith, 66 picks early. Conviction is one thing; this is another. Good, not great, and the B says as much.
Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Bowman Jr.. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through running back.
They left with interior defensive lineman solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 25 they get a disruptive interior force, outstanding value to boot. The biggest hole, addressed.
Tyler Warren in the 58th pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It fills a real need, too.
Tate Ratledge slid further than he should have, and Round 3, Pick 25 is lovely value for the offensive lineman. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Jackson Slater this early at the 127th overall pick. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
The board fumbled Billy Bowman Jr. all the way to pick 167, and they scooped it up. A minor itch, scratched.
Thor Griffith at the Round 7 slot is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
