You could see the war room lean forward. Bhayshul Tuten at pick No. 243 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. They left with running back solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 25 they get a disruptive interior force. The biggest hole, addressed.
Tyler Booker at the 58th pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It fills a real need, too.
A quiet steal in pick No. 89: Elijah Arroyo for less than the market said. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
They will replay Savion Williams at the 127th overall pick for years; that is how good the value is. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A safety of that caliber at Round 5, Pick 28 is the definition of value, full stop. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Taking Bhayshul Tuten in No. 243 is close to grand larceny; a running back that good had no business lasting this long. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
