You could see the war room lean forward. Bhayshul Tuten at Round 7, Pick 25 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did.
Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Running back is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. Value over need was the throughline, for better and worse.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a wrecking ball inside. The biggest hole, addressed.
Tyler Warren at the 58th pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. The roster fit checks out.
A slide stopped in pick 89, with Tate Ratledge worth more than the price. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They will replay Savion Williams at slot 127 for years; that is how good the value is. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Kevin Winston Jr. at the 167th overall pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A minor need, but a need all the same.
The board fumbled Bhayshul Tuten all the way to No. 243, and they scooped it up. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
