Thirty-one other rooms let Xavier Watts slide, and the Texans were the ones holding the card at pick No. 120. Highway robbery.
They punted on running back, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 3 of 8 of the wish list covered. They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a matchup problem out wide at a price that makes it sweeter. Exactly the need they had to hit.
The board had Tyler Booker higher than pick 53, and the offensive lineman fell to them anyway. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
They robbed the room for Tyler Warren here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
They barely believed it either: Xavier Watts still on the board at No. 120. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Steal is underselling it; Jake Majors at the 164th pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It fills a real need, too.
A top-tier safety at a bargain, Xavier Nwankpa in slot 235, plain and simple. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
