The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Bhayshul Tuten, the Round 7 slot, roughly 86 picks past where he belonged. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.
The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer. On the needs board they went 4 of 8, with running back the one that mattered most.
The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 25 they get a pocket-collapsing interior rusher, outstanding value to boot. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Matthew Golden slid further than he should have, and pick No. 58 is lovely value for the wide receiver. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Andrew Mukuba at the Round 3 slot is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Somehow Luke Kandra was still sitting there in slot 126, and they pounced on premier offensive lineman value. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A safety of that caliber at the 165th pick is the definition of value, full stop. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
Bhayshul Tuten in No. 241 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
