Somebody in slot 243 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Texans sat still while Robert Spears-Jennings, the No. 145 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium.
That running back hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Interior defensive lineman was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
Good work on the whole, with running back the one box left unchecked.

In the 25th overall pick they get a pocket-collapsing interior rusher at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Walter Nolen at Round 2, Pick 26 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.

Mason Taylor at pick 167 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It fills a real need, too.
A safety of that caliber at pick No. 243 is the definition of value, full stop. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
