You build a draft on nights like this. Ollie Gordon II had no business being available in the 241st overall pick, and the Texans did the only sane thing and turned in the card. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.
That wide receiver hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. They left with running back solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 25th overall pick they get a blindside protector. A clean fit for the roster.
They robbed the room for Tyler Booker here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
A top-tier interior defensive lineman at a bargain, Deone Walker in pick 89, plain and simple. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Kevin Winston Jr. in the Round 4 slot is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Oronde Gadsden II in No. 164 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
