Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Texans spent pick No. 123 on Jalyx Hunt, a name the board had a full 28 spots lower. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
However the rest shakes out, Robinson at that price is a win they earned. They punted on offensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
Running back was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick-by-Pick
Chop Robinson in the 42nd pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Roman Wilson in the 59th overall pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Mike Sainristil slipping to Round 3, Pick 23 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
A wild overpay on Jalyx Hunt in pick No. 123, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Isaac Guerendo at pick 127 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Logan Lee in slot 188, miles early. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They liked Tyler Owens enough to skip the value, taking him in pick No. 247. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
