If confidence were a draft strategy, the Texans would have aced it. Thor Griffith at pick 243 is 66 spots clear of where he belonged.
If one pick saves this weekend, it is Arroyo. The running back hole is the one line item this class does not answer. On the needs board they went 4 of 8, with wide receiver the one that mattered most.
Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 25 they get a wrecking ball inside at a price that makes it sweeter. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Matthew Golden at the Round 2 slot is the proof. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Donovan Jackson in slot 89. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Elijah Arroyo in pick 127 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
They barely believed it either: Billy Bowman Jr. still on the board at the 167th overall pick. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
A real head-scratcher, Thor Griffith in No. 243 is miles ahead of his ranking. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
