The Texans spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Cam Skattebo, the No. 111 name on the board, in Round 7, Pick 25. The bottom line is a respectable B.
The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. On the needs board they went 5 of 8, with running back the one that mattered most.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 25 they get a matchup problem out wide at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
They robbed the room for Tyler Warren here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It fills a real need, too.
They did well to land Dylan Fairchild in the 89th overall pick, just ahead of his grade. A need, and now a little less of one.
The board fumbled Omarr Norman-Lott all the way to the Round 4 slot, and they scooped it up. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A top-tier safety at a bargain, Sonny Styles in No. 165, plain and simple. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Circle this one: Cam Skattebo at pick No. 241 is a fall that decides a draft. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
