Call it larceny. Tyler Warren sat on the board until slot 89, and the Texans did not need to be asked twice. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped running back, which is a strange place to end up. Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 4 of 8 of the wish list covered.
Good work on the whole, with running back the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 25 they get a load in the middle at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Matthew Golden at slot 58. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
The board fumbled Tyler Warren all the way to the 89th pick, and they scooped it up. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
They barely believed it either: Luke Kandra still on the board at pick 126. The roster fit checks out.
Circle this one: Sonny Styles at the 165th overall pick is a fall that decides a draft. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Jaylen Reed at No. 241 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
