There was a run on nobody at that position, and the Texans started one anyway for Thor Griffith, 66 picks ahead of schedule. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.
The Egbuka value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. For all the activity, running back went untouched, which is hard to explain. They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 25 they get a disruptive interior force, and a steal at that. The biggest hole, addressed.
Circle this one: Emeka Egbuka at pick No. 58 is a fall that decides a draft. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Donovan Jackson at Round 3, Pick 25 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A need, and now a little less of one.
You do not let a wide receiver like Savion Williams reach the Round 4 slot and blink. They did not. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Oronde Gadsden II in the 167th pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Thor Griffith in the 243rd overall pick is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
