You could see the war room lean forward. Cam Skattebo at slot 243 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. No fireworks, but a solid B.
The Hancock reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
By-the-book stuff, Kenneth Grant at Round 1, Pick 25 squarely in line with his ranking. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Marcus Mbow in the 58th overall pick. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Savion Williams at pick 89 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Steal is underselling it; Gunnar Helm at No. 127 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Value said wait; Jordan Hancock in pick No. 167 says they were not listening. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
A top-tier running back at a bargain, Cam Skattebo in slot 243, plain and simple. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
