Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Texans were there to profit. Bhayshul Tuten, the No. 164 name on the board, should have been long gone before No. 241. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The roster is better shaped than it was, with running back chief among the fixes. They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 25 they get a mismatch in the passing game at a price that makes it sweeter.
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Tyler Booker in the Round 2 slot, plain and simple. The roster fit checks out.
They robbed the room for Jalen Royals here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Darius Alexander at the 126th pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Robert Spears-Jennings at Round 5, Pick 28 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Bhayshul Tuten in the 241st overall pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
