If confidence were a draft strategy, the Texans would have aced it. Thor Griffith at Round 7, Pick 25 is 66 spots clear of where he belonged. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
Landing Ransom that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. The running back spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
They went 3 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but running back.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 25 they get a run-stuffing presence up front. The biggest hole, addressed.
Steal is underselling it; Tyler Warren at pick 58 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. The roster fit checks out.
Donovan Jackson in No. 89 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Jackson Slater in the Round 4 slot, miles early. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Lathan Ransom at Round 5, Pick 28 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
