Somebody in the Round 7 slot was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Texans sat still while Ollie Gordon II, the No. 164 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.
That wide receiver hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Job largely done: running back settled and 4 of 8 of the wish list covered. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
Good work on the whole, with wide receiver the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 25 they get a wrecking ball inside, and a steal at that. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Nice patience on Tyler Warren, who had no business lasting to pick 58. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Dylan Fairchild at Round 3, Pick 25 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
