Boards are made to be trusted, and the Texans shredded theirs for Thor Griffith. He came off 121 spots early, and the room will hear about it. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.
However the rest shakes out, Walker at that price is a win they earned. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped running back, which is a strange place to end up.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but running back.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 25 they get a red-zone target to build around, outstanding value to boot.
Somehow Emeka Egbuka was still sitting there in slot 58, and they pounced on premier wide receiver value. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Steal is underselling it; Jalon Walker at the 89th pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Luke Kandra at No. 126 is the proof. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
They reached a country mile for Thor Griffith at pick 165, and the board is aghast. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Hunter Wohler at the 241st overall pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the safety. A minor need, but a need all the same.
