Houston Texans

The Texans robbed the room for Skattebo. Final grade: B.

The Texans did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Cam Skattebo fell into pick No. 241. Good, not great, and the B says as much.

Kandra has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Running back is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.25 · Pick 25 · Kenneth Grant · DT · rank 23
In the 25th pick they get a wrecking ball inside. Exactly the need they had to hit.
R2.26 · Pick 58 · Tyler Warren · TE · rank 43
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Tyler Warren at Round 2, Pick 26 is the proof. The roster fit checks out.
R3.25 · Pick 89 · Luke Kandra · OG · rank 104
The board had cheaper options than Luke Kandra at the 89th overall pick, and it noticed. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R4.25 · Pick 126 · Jaylin Noel · WR · rank 140
They went early on Jaylin Noel in slot 126, and the value did not follow. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
R5.28 · Pick 165 · Sonny Styles · S · rank 121
Steal is underselling it; Sonny Styles at No. 165 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
R7.25 · Pick 241 · Cam Skattebo · RB · rank 110
Cam Skattebo in pick 241 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
