The rest of the league will want that one back. Jalon Walker tumbling to the Texans in pick 89 is a gift they did not have to think twice about.
Every board in the league had Griffith lower, and that gap is the story. Leaving running back unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but running back.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 25 they get an anchor for the defensive front. Exactly the need they had to hit.
They barely believed it either: Tyler Warren still on the board at No. 58. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
They robbed the room for Jalon Walker here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. The roster fit checks out.
Value said wait; Jackson Slater in pick No. 127 says they were not listening. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Taking Lathan Ransom in the Round 5 slot is close to grand larceny; a safety that good had no business lasting this long. A minor itch, scratched.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Thor Griffith this early at the 243rd overall pick. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
