Houston Texans

The Texans cashed the board's mistake on Tuten: B.

When a board-topper like Bhayshul Tuten slides to slot 241, you do not overthink it, and the Texans did not. More right than wrong, and a B to match.

Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Running back was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.25 · Pick 25 · Walter Nolen · DT · rank 21
In the 25th overall pick they get a wrecking ball inside. The biggest hole, addressed.
R2.26 · Pick 58 · Colston Loveland · TE · rank 25
Taking Colston Loveland in slot 58 is close to grand larceny; a tight end that good had no business lasting this long. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
R3.25 · Pick 89 · Donovan Jackson · OT · rank 86
Donovan Jackson at Round 3, Pick 25 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R4.25 · Pick 126 · Jack Bech · WR · rank 71
You do not let a wide receiver like Jack Bech reach the 126th pick and blink. They did not. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R5.28 · Pick 165 · Billy Bowman Jr. · S · rank 119
A safety of that caliber at the Round 5 slot is the definition of value, full stop. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
R7.25 · Pick 241 · Bhayshul Tuten · RB · rank 164
Bhayshul Tuten at pick 241 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
