The Texans spent real capital to be 66 picks early on Thor Griffith, and the board is going to hold them to it. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.
They banked enough surplus on Ransom to cover a lot of smaller sins. The running back spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but running back.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 25 they get a load in the middle. The biggest hole, addressed.
Tyler Warren in slot 58 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
They paid a round early for Savion Williams in Round 3, Pick 25, more than the board wanted. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Dylan Fairchild in pick 127, plain and simple. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
The board fumbled Lathan Ransom all the way to the Round 5 slot, and they scooped it up. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Thor Griffith at the 243rd overall pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
