You could see the war room lean forward. Bhayshul Tuten at the Round 7 slot is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did.
That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The cost of the Noel reach is exactly the players who went right after him. Running back is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 25 they get a wrecking ball inside. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Tyler Warren at the Round 2 slot is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They robbed the room for Tate Ratledge here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Jaylin Noel at the 126th pick is a conviction pick that outran the value. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Sonny Styles in pick No. 165 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Steal is underselling it; Bhayshul Tuten at the 241st overall pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
