There was a run on nobody at that position, and the Texans started one anyway for Thor Griffith, 66 picks ahead of schedule. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.
If one pick saves this weekend, it is Ransom. For all the activity, running back went untouched, which is hard to explain.
The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but running back.

In the 25th pick they get a disruptive interior force. The biggest hole, addressed.
You do not let a tight end like Tyler Warren reach pick 58 and blink. They did not. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Donovan Jackson at the 89th overall pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. It fills a real need, too.
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, Savion Williams in slot 127, plain and simple. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Lathan Ransom in the Round 5 slot is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Thor Griffith at No. 243 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
