Somebody in the 241st pick was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Texans sat still while Cam Skattebo, the No. 113 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.
The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Running back was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 25 they get a matchup problem out wide, outstanding value to boot. The biggest hole, addressed.
Tyler Warren in Round 2, Pick 26 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Dylan Fairchild in the 89th overall pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Darius Alexander at pick 126 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A top-tier safety at a bargain, Sonny Styles in slot 165, plain and simple. A minor itch, scratched.
They will replay Cam Skattebo at the 241st pick for years; that is how good the value is. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
