The rest of the league will want that one back. Ollie Gordon II tumbling to the Texans in the 241st overall pick is a gift they did not have to think twice about. No fireworks, but a solid B.

They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. The Noel pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. Running back is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

They trusted the board more than the depth chart.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.25 · Pick 25 · Kenneth Grant · DT · rank 23
In No. 25 they get a pocket-collapsing interior rusher at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
R2.26 · Pick 58 · Colston Loveland · TE · rank 26
Colston Loveland in pick No. 58 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R3.25 · Pick 89 · Dylan Fairchild · OG · rank 86
Dylan Fairchild at Round 3, Pick 25 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
R4.25 · Pick 126 · Jaylin Noel · WR · rank 141
They paid a round early for Jaylin Noel in pick 126, more than the board wanted. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
R5.28 · Pick 165 · Billy Bowman Jr. · S · rank 112
They barely believed it either: Billy Bowman Jr. still on the board at the 165th overall pick. A minor itch, scratched.
R7.25 · Pick 241 · Ollie Gordon II · RB · rank 165
They will replay Ollie Gordon II at slot 241 for years; that is how good the value is. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
