The rest of the league will want that one back. Lathan Ransom tumbling to the Texans in pick No. 167 is a gift they did not have to think twice about.
The Griffith pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. That running back hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick-by-Pick
A market-rate interior defensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Kenneth Grant. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Circle this one: Tyler Booker at pick 58 is a fall that decides a draft. A need, and now a little less of one.
A premium they did not need to pay, Savion Williams a notch or two before his time. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Elijah Arroyo in pick No. 127 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It fills a real need, too.
Lathan Ransom at the Round 5 slot is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A minor itch, scratched.
Thor Griffith at Round 7, Pick 25 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
