Best value of the weekend goes to the Texans for Skattebo: B.

You could see the war room lean forward. Cam Skattebo at slot 235 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. Good, not great, and the B says as much.

They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. Running back is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

The skill positions did well by the weekend.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.19 · Pick 19 · Tetairoa McMillan · WR · rank 6
In the Round 1 slot they get a difference-maker at receiver, outstanding value to boot. The biggest hole, addressed.
R2.21 · Pick 53 · Tyler Booker · OG · rank 37
A slide stopped in pick 53, with Tyler Booker worth more than the price. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
R3.20 · Pick 84 · Deone Walker · DT · rank 69
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Deone Walker in No. 84. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
R4.19 · Pick 120 · Sonny Styles · S · rank 124
A market-rate safety, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Sonny Styles. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
R5.27 · Pick 164 · Eli Stowers · TE · rank 164
They paid sticker price for Eli Stowers in Round 5, Pick 27, and that is fine. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R7.19 · Pick 235 · Cam Skattebo · RB · rank 178
Steal is underselling it; Cam Skattebo at slot 235 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
