You build a draft on nights like this. Tyler Warren had no business being available in the Round 2 slot, and the Texans did the only sane thing and turned in the card.
They will need Griffith to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. A whole weekend of picks and running back is somehow still a want.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the running back spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a go-to option on the outside. The biggest hole, addressed.
Tyler Warren in the 58th pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A need, and now a little less of one.
Darius Alexander in No. 89 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Steal is underselling it; Luke Kandra at pick No. 126 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Circle this one: Rod Moore at the 165th overall pick is a fall that decides a draft. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Thor Griffith well ahead of where he belonged. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
