The rest of the league will want that one back. Cam Skattebo tumbling to the Texans in slot 241 is a gift they did not have to think twice about.
They punted on wide receiver, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. The Kandra pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. They went 4 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 25 they get a wrecking ball inside. The biggest hole, addressed.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Colston Loveland in the Round 2 slot. The roster fit checks out.
They paid up for Luke Kandra at No. 89 when waiting would have done the job. A need, and now a little less of one.
Deone Walker in pick 126 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Steal is underselling it; Sonny Styles at the 165th pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
They robbed the room for Cam Skattebo here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
