The rest of the league will want that one back. Cam Skattebo tumbling to the Texans in No. 243 is a gift they did not have to think twice about. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher. Every board in the league had Slater lower, and that gap is the story. The roster is better shaped than it was, with running back chief among the fixes.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 25 they get a disruptive interior force, outstanding value to boot. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Taking Tyleik Williams in No. 58 is close to grand larceny; an interior defensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They liked Savion Williams enough to skip the value, taking him in Round 3, Pick 25. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Jackson Slater this early at pick 127. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Oronde Gadsden II in pick No. 167 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
They barely believed it either: Cam Skattebo still on the board at the Round 7 slot. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
