You could see the war room lean forward. Raheim Sanders at slot 241 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did.
Reaching for Capehart left real value on the table behind him. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. The roster is better shaped than it was, with running back chief among the fixes.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 25 they get a weapon on the perimeter. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Circle this one: Colston Loveland at No. 58 is a fall that decides a draft. A need, and now a little less of one.
Dylan Fairchild at Round 3, Pick 25 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
They left a pile of value on the table to take DeMonte Capehart this early at slot 126. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They will replay Sonny Styles at the 165th pick for years; that is how good the value is. A minor itch, scratched.
Raheim Sanders at the 241st overall pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
