This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Bhayshul Tuten, the No. 164 name on the board, stolen at Round 7, Pick 25. No fireworks, but a solid B.
They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. Job largely done: running back settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered.
Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 25th pick they get a disruptive interior force at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Marcus Mbow in No. 58. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
The board fumbled Isaiah Bond all the way to Round 3, Pick 25, and they scooped it up. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A tight end of that caliber at pick No. 127 is the definition of value, full stop. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Robert Spears-Jennings in the 167th overall pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Bhayshul Tuten in the Round 7 slot is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
