This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Billy Bowman Jr., the No. 119 name on the board, stolen at No. 167.
The Griffith pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. That running back hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 4 of 8 of the wish list covered. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a disruptive interior force. The biggest hole, addressed.
Tyler Warren at pick No. 58 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
A straight-up fair deal on Dylan Fairchild at slot 89, value and slot in agreement. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Savion Williams in the 127th overall pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A safety of that caliber at No. 167 is the definition of value, full stop. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Thor Griffith at Round 7, Pick 25 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
