The rest of the league will want that one back. Connor Lew tumbling to the Texans in pick 106 is a gift they did not have to think twice about. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.
The wide receiver spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. They are betting Jackson proves the room right and everyone else wrong.
They trusted the board more than the depth chart.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but wide receiver.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 28 they get a blindside protector at fair value.
Anthony Hill Jr. at the 38th overall pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
The board had Lee Hunter higher than Round 2, Pick 27, and the interior defensive lineman fell to them anyway. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They took Jadarian Price at par in pick No. 69, which is nothing to complain about. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They barely believed it either: Connor Lew still on the board at pick 106. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Nice patience on Oscar Delp, who had no business lasting to No. 141. A need, and now a little less of one.
They jumped the gun on Domani Jackson, taking him earlier than his grade liked. A minor itch, scratched.
A slide stopped in the 243rd pick, with Robert Spears-Jennings worth more than the price. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
