There is conviction, and then there is this. The Texans took Thor Griffith a full 50 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend. Good, not great, and the B says as much.
That Mbow pick is the receipt they will wave around later. The running back spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.

Tetairoa McMillan at the 25th pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
They talked themselves into Donovan Jackson at slot 58, and the board did not agree. It fills a real need, too.
You do not let an offensive lineman like Marcus Mbow reach the 89th overall pick and blink. They did not. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Darius Alexander at Round 4, Pick 26 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Jackson Slater in No. 167, plain and simple. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Thor Griffith well ahead of where he belonged. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
