When the story of this class is written, it opens with Thor Griffith at the Round 7 slot, a reach of 50 spots that the board flatly disagrees with. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.
Landing Williams that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. They punted on running back, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a go-to option on the outside at a price that makes it sweeter. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Donovan Jackson at pick 58 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. The roster fit checks out.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Jordan Phillips this early at slot 89. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
They will replay Savion Williams at No. 127 for years; that is how good the value is. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A premium they did not need to pay, Cobee Bryant a notch or two before his time. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
They reached into another round for Thor Griffith, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
