The Texans put a flag in the ground for Donovan Jackson, 27 picks before anyone else would have, and the value took the hit.
They will regret leaving wide receiver for another day if the season turns on it. Tuten falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but wide receiver.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 25th pick they get a wrecking ball inside. The biggest hole, addressed.
Donovan Jackson at Round 2, Pick 26 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Jordan Phillips at No. 89 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Terrance Ferguson in pick 127 lands just on the right side of the ledger. It fills a real need, too.
Bhayshul Tuten at the Round 5 slot is money in the bank, a running back taken below his worth. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They paid sticker price for Hunter Wohler in the 243rd overall pick, and that is fine. A minor need, but a need all the same.
